Timelapser
A Docker-based service that periodically fetches images from HTTP cameras and automatically compiles them into timelapse videos.
Overview
Timelapser monitors HTTP-based cameras, captures snapshots at configured intervals, and generates timelapse videos on schedule. It supports multiple cameras with individual configurations and flexible scheduling using cron expressions.
- Monitor construction sites with 10-minute intervals
- Capture cloud movement and weather patterns every 2 minutes
- Track seasonal changes with hourly snapshots
- Create smooth 24fps timelapses from security cameras
Simple YAML-based configuration for:
- Camera URLs and authentication credentials
- Snapshot capture intervals (cron expressions)
- Timelapse generation schedules
- Frame duration and video quality settings
- Output directory management
Works with Home Assistant’s Local Media feature.
